Yes — you can volunteer at LA 2028 from almost anywhere. Applications are open to eligible people worldwide; you do not need to live in the U.S. or Los Angeles. You must be 18 or older, proficient in English, and available for at least 10 non-consecutive shifts (about eight hours each) during the Games. Apply through the official volunteer portal. Note: volunteering is unpaid, and you arrange your own travel, visa and accommodation.
LA 2028 plans to recruit around 60,000 Games-time volunteers — the LA28 Volunteer Crew presented by Delta Air Lines — across Los Angeles and the other host cities. Who is eligible
- At least 18 years old at the time you apply.
- Proficient in English — able to speak, read and write it.
- Available for 10 non-consecutive shifts (~8 hours each) during the Olympic or Paralympic volunteer period.
- Able to report in person to a venue — in Greater Los Angeles, Oklahoma City, or a football host city (New York, Columbus, Nashville, St. Louis, San José, San Diego).
- Willing to complete a background check. Some roles require prior experience; many do not.
How selection works
- Apply through the official volunteer portal, listing your top three preferred role categories.
- Selection from the applicant pool.
- Assessment — selected applicants are invited to the Volunteer Experience Center in Los Angeles for an in-person session, or a virtual option if you're not local.
- Offer arrives by email and in the volunteer portal.
- Training — role-specific and venue-specific training before the Games.
